To truly thrive, our cities must be healthy ecosystems in which each part works towards one goal: improving people’s quality of life. The next edition of the New Cities Summit will explore this important theme in Incheon Songdo from 7-9 June 2017.
Songdo, one of the world’s most successful greenfield cities, has sustainability and livability at its core. Songdo boasts a small carbon footprint, using just half the energy of a city of comparable size, and its cutting-edge infrastructure includes a citywide pneumatic waste disposal system and water recycling system. Songdo is a posterchild for integrated technology expressly designed to improve the wellbeing of its citizens. These technologies include the use of sensors throughout the city, adding to efficiency, monitoring the environment and air pollution, and ensuring safety and security for citizens.
During the New Cities Summit, mayors, CEOs, urban planners, technologists and cultural leaders from around the world will engage in conversations and interactive workshops focused on the fundamental elements that help improve health and wellness in cities.
